The house was designed and built in 1915 by Nai Lert (or Phraya Bhakdinoraseth) as a place where the family and his friends could relax on brief excursions from the central part of the city. The house is a large airy pavilions raised about ninety five feet above ground, with hand-hewn beams and columns, multi layered roofs, the two separated pavilions are connected by a wooden walk way. In 1942, the house suffered damage during World War II, when the front part was struck by a bomb creating a severe loss of fragile family treasures. Remarkably, no one was injured and the damaged front house was rebuilt and completed in 1945. Embrace in authentic Thai culture and tradition which run throughout the property from the entrance via the century-old bridge, displays of original antiques and arts, the architecture of the house, to the stories and accomplishments of Nai Lert family. Nai Lert Park Heritage home was turned into a museum filled with historical memorabilia from three generations – each corner and the thousands of artifacts within are parts of an enthralling history about the life and legacy of Phraya Bhakdinoraseth.
